Waldorf resident Frederick Michael McPhatter, 30, is facing a host of charges for allegedly peeing into a Mirkwood Lane home on multiple occasions - including once when children were inside the residence, officials said.

In late August, officers from the sheriff's office responded to the home when residents reported that they observed a man who appeared to be naked from the waist down by a. fence near their yard.

Officials said that they checked their security cameras and observed the man - later identified as McPhatter - on the outside of their house peeping into a window while exposing himself and masturbating.

After reviewing additional surveillance footage, the suspect was caught doing the same thing on several other occasions at the same house.

The incidents occurred in both the evening and daytime hours, and during one case, children were inside the house but it does not appear they witnessed anything, investigators said.

Through the investigation, McPhatter was established as a suspect and linked to a similar case that happened in the same area in 2019, according to the sheriff's office.

McPhatter was arrested on Monday, Sept. 12, and charged with:

  • Trespassing;
  • Peeping Tom;
  • Indecent exposure;
  • Stalking.

Following his arrest, McPhatter was released from the Charles County Detention Center on a $10,000 unsecured bond by a district court commissioner.

The investigation into the incidents is ongoing.

Investigators are asking anyone who lives in the area of Mirkwood Lane to review any surveillance footage they have to see if McPhatter has been to other homes in the area and to reach out to Det. Nyamekye at the Charles County Sheriff's Office by calling (301) 609-6558
